About the gold investment coin of Spain "Bull"

Spain has minted a gold investment coin featuring a bull. The coin was issued in 2022. The quality of minting at the coin is the highest, namely, the reverse proof. Recall that in 2021 a coin was issued with similar quality, but a lynx was depicted on the reverse.

A large number of people around the world are looking forward to bullfighting season, which runs from March to October. Its origin dates back to the beginning of the 8th century AD. At the time, Spain was part of the Roman Empire. The first official corrida (corrida de toros) was held in honor of the coronation of King Alfonso VIII, whose reign began in 1158. Then bullfighting was carried out on city squares. It was popular in Pamplona, one of the oldest cities in the country. Subsequently, round arenas began to be built for bullfighting in all significant cities of Spain. Participants are often injured during competitions, and in rare cases they even die.

The reverse of the coin shows a Spanish bull in a pose in which he enters the arena for a fight. On top of the center is the face value (1.5 euros), on the left is the sign of the Royal Mint of Spain, and under it is the year of issue. On the bottom right is the name of the coin ("TORO" - bull). On the obverse there are two hemispheres under the royal crown, and on both sides are the Herculean pillars with the motto "PLUS VLTRA" ("outside"). On the rim on top is a semicircle inscription, which is translated from Spanish as "Philip VI, King of Spain." Below the center are the characteristics of the coin in Spanish: "1 ounce 999.9 gold samples." The circulation of the coin is 15 thousand copies.
