According to ancient tales and legends, Zeus, the god of lightning, thunder and sky, liked this young girl very much and turned into a mighty white bull and kidnapped her while she and her friends were playing on the seashore. Europe climbed on the back of the bull and Zeus in the form of this very bull took her to the island of Crete.
