The 2023 Leopard release is the fourth issue in the Big Five II Series and is struck from 0,999 pure silver with a weight of 1 oz. The mintage is limited to 20,000 pieces worldwide. The obverse features a detailed close-up portrait of an adult leopard, accompanied by the inscriptions SOUTH AFRICA and BIG FIVE 2023 as well as the South African coat of arms. The reverse continues the signature split-design concept of the series, depicting half of a leopard’s face; when two coins are placed side by side, they form a complete close-up image, and multiple coins create the illusion of a leopard pack. At the center appear the denomination FIVE RAND, the weight 1 oz, and the fineness Ag 999. The coin is presented in an illustrated blister card.
