Gold coin of Mexico «Libertad», 2023, 31.1 grams of pure gold (0.999 proof)

The Banco de México has been producing the Libertad gold coin since 1981. It stands as the third oldest gold bullion coin globally, following only the South African Krugerrand and the Canadian Maple Leaf. Commonly known as Libertad, this coin doesn't have a fixed value but is considered legal tender in Mexico. The 2023 edition of the Libertad coin is made from one troy ounce of 99.9% pure gold, Unc condition. Every year, the design continues to show Victoria, the goddess of victory, representing Mexico's fight for independence. On the obverse, the coin features Mexico's national coat of arms surrounded by ten historical versions of the emblem.
